Medium is the most popular platform for writers and bloggers to share their thoughts, ideas, and stories with a wide audience.
Many writers aspire to create content that goes viral, gets boosted, and gain widespread reach.
I have been writing on Medium since 2021 and have been mostly writing tech-based articles that do well and I am grateful for all the 2000 followers I have.
Imagine you sitting with 2000 in a single room or hall, it's just crazy. 🤯
Once in a while, I try to deviate from my core niche and write different articles like the one that you are probably reading.
Hence I decided to gather down 10 advice that have helped me to write and I have jotted those advice in my diary so that I can also go back to it.
It can be basic for some of you readers who write daily, read daily, and consume a lot of content from the internet but I want this article to reach new-age writers who are just starting out.
I will try to keep this advice simple and short because I know many of you including me are being infected with short attention span syndrome 😆
Let's begin
“Craft an Engaging Hook” — J.K. Rowling:
Start your article with an irresistible hook. J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, emphasizes the importance of grabbing your readers’ attention from the very beginning.
Whether it’s a captivating story, a thought-provoking question, or a surprising fact, your hook should compel readers to keep scrolling.
“Know Your Audience” — Stephen King:
This was one the most important pieces of advice he mentioned in his book On Writing that understanding your target audience is crucial, as Stephen King advises.
Tailor your content to resonate with your readers’ interests and preferences…
